Social Media Metrics

Pageviews are a pretty traditional metric, but they’re becoming somewhat obselete. The industry is trying to move to a time-based metric, to instead measure how long users spend on your site.

With regards to Social Media initiatives, sites will want to try and track the effect of content on external blogs, social bookmark sites, etc. This can be tricky, but using tools like Technorati, you can watch the Internet for sites that mention or link to content.
