Generation Y and Social Marketing
Y is the generation that grew up with the Internet. They participate online in communities, they use online tools like Instant Messaging and Blogging, and they tend to be a lot more “real-time” than previous generations. They are the generation that will react the strongest to Social Media and Marketing initiatives, and they are just beginning to contribute to the Internet economy.
A recent report from Deloitte & Touche highlights some of these differences, and how things may change over the next few years as Baby Boomers retire.
